Halle Berry, ex Olivier Martinez heading back to court over child custody issue

Halle Berry and ex-husband Olivier Martinez are heading back to court to settle a custody dispute over their son Maceo after a woman accused the couple of sexually abusing her while she was homeless last year.

The woman, who was reportedly in a group home under the mental care of Martinez, told the L.A. Times that they took her to a restaurant where Martinez “grabbed her while alone with her and molested her.” She added: “They shut the door. He started to make her touch him and he suddenly had his hand up her skirt, while she was trying to push him away.”

But Martinez denied the allegations and his lawyer Adam Streisand said: “Mr. Martinez unequivocally denies the allegations in the complaint. These are accusations that were made in 2015 and nothing changed in Mr. Martinez’s circumstances in 2015.

“They are not alleging that Halle Berry, her children or her co-parenting partners were involved. If he is guilty of any crime, it was then and has nothing to do with any of those involved.”

Berry’s rep Cindy Guagenti said she had no comment and “reserves her position” when asked about the settlement.

The pair announced their separation in January, after seven years of marriage. In an affidavit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the singer said that after she filed for divorce, Martinez’s decision to set her up with another man angered her.

“The immediate breakup of the marriage brought on a tremendous amount of stress for me that continued to the present day,” she wrote. “I feel like my intuition was assaulted and my trust betrayed.”

Berry confirmed that she now believes Martinez was the one who sexually abused the woman.

In June, Berry proposed to Dutch businessman Jaime Ray Newman, 42, after a two-month romance.

Berry and Martinez met while filming “Dark Tide” in 2008.

In July, Berry, 50, revealed in a Billboard interview that she was diagnosed with endometriosis and Crohn’s disease in her 20s. She acknowledged the connection the diagnosis had to the secrets she kept about her relationship with Martinez and the abuse she suffered at the hands of her own father.

“I was not sexually abused. I had a sexual abuser,” she told the magazine. “He was about the age I was when I had my first boyfriend when I was 11 years old. And I always had a problem with kids that were not my age, having sex. My earliest memory is of my father having sex with another young girl. And when I grew up, I knew, ‘Oh, you know what that was. That’s a classic story.’

“So, to say that that’s an excuse is not true, but I grew up around it. And my primary survival skills for dealing with it were to put distance between myself and that, to be very interested in religion, with my father’s teachings.”
