Starbucks kicks off Free Fall Friday on Wednesday

There’s a deal for you, Starbucks fans!

The coffee company is hosting its annual “Free Fall Friday” giveaway from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and this year the National Parks Service will take away 100,000 free Frappuccinos (even though summer is actually just around the corner).

After your beverage is yours, you can make sure you mark your calendar: The event will be held again from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

To sign up for the promo, you can go to Starbucks.com. If you sign up using a Starbucks Card, you can download the My Starbucks Rewards mobile app, where you can also redeem the freebie. Starbucks Card members have access to two favorite offers for the free Frappuccino:

The first is for one free Frappuccino of your choice with the purchase of a holiday-themed drink. The second offer is for a free Frappuccino with the purchase of any holiday drink (your choice of red velvet, chocolate mocha, mint mocha, or peppermint mocha).

In all, Starbucks has offered over a million “Free Fall Fridays” since the event began in 2003. Although the offer is one free drink per customer at participating locations, if you’re the first to sign up, you’ll get a free coffee and doughnut for sitting in the coffee giant’s “U.S. Opportunity” waiting room.

Iced coffee comes in two varieties this year: Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is sweetened with pumpkin puree and infused with cinnamon sugar and marshmallow fluff, and the popular Chestnut Praline Frappuccino, which features a base of half-and-half and topped with Chestnut Praline Mocha Sauce, Nutty Caramel Brulee Sauce, Chestnut Praline Biscuit, and Frappuccino Cream Cheese Frosting.

Starbucks is not the only coffee company selling these drinks. Dunkin’ Donuts recently announced that it will release an alternate version of Pumpkin Spice Latte in April.
